Partner with us to serve our city.

Every day, we open our doors to serve our neighbors, our students and our outreach teams. It's a big job, and we can't do it alone. The activities below are for local bay area volunteers who make it possible for us to continue engaging our city with a loving God. If you live outside the bay area check out our summer-of-service opportunities, or join us as a mission builder.

During the citywide shelter-in many of our volunteer opportunities are closed. Please note Food Pantry and Restoration Initiatives are still in need of volunteers.

Food Pantry

Every Thursday
1:00 – 4:00 pm

Volunteers needed from 1:00-4:00pm

We need help even during shelter-in! Help with food distribution, set-up, or clean-up. Tangibly share the love of God through groceries.

Restoration Initiatives

Every Monday, Tuesday Wednesday, and Friday
10:30–4:30 pm

We need volunteers to help run our shower station, pass out snacks, manage donations, and bleach the showers after each use.

Hot Chocolate Ministry

Fridays
6:45–9 pm

*very limited numbers available during this time

Head out onto the streets to serve hot chocolate to the homeless in the Tenderloin neighborhood. As you serve, you'll have the opportunity to share the Gospel, and pray with our neighbors.

Pop-up Church

Come out to the Tenderloin and bring church to the streets. During COVID-19 shelter-in-place many unhoused and low-income neighbors had no church to attend due to lack of virtual access. Now, we bring church to where they are. You can bring the love of Christ to the streets of the Tenderloin.

All year round, one day or multi-day projects

Mission Builders

Do you want to serve at YWAM San Francisco for a few days to a few months? Do you have skills in carpentry, kitchen, cleaning, hospitality, maintenance, accounts or communications? You can come and work in exchange for your either free or subsidized room and board. Apply here!
