Kimberly Odom My heart is San Francisco even though I live in Sweet Home Alabama. Ever since my youth group did a mission trip to YWAM San Francisco, I've known God has always wanted me back. This past summer I had the privilege of going back and being summer staff. While there, God completely changed me. The relationships I made with people were phenomenal. Not only with staff but with our street friends to. The people on the streets are just looking for someone to talk with and to love on them. That's what YWAM SF is all about. Sharing Jesus Christ through friendship. Your eyes will be opened up to a whole new lifestyle that these people are living through drugs, alcohol, prostitution and poverty. If you want your heart to be changed, YWAM SF is the place for you. Luke Patterson I helped out at summer of service and really enjoyed my time. I was able to meet new people from around the world and become close friends. God taught me a lot about living in community and how to be an effective leader. Leading a team each week was amazing for me because every team had different attitudes. I loved seeing teens come in with a bias about less privileged people and having God change it to a passion for His people. Cedar Falls, Iowa |

Stephanie Ferris This last summer was a lot more than I expected it to be, and ended up being one of my favorite summers ever. At the end of my DTS I felt like God was calling me to stay in San Francisco and do a Summer of Service. I couldn't wait to go home after the school and start my "care-free" summer, so at first working the whole summer seemed like it was going to be hard. I went home for just three days before coming back to the city. During the summer I really enjoyed working with the teams, and exposing them to American poverty. It was really cool to see transformation in the lives of young people, and the people on the street. I also made some really amazing relationships with other people on the SOS, and got to see God work in so many different peoples lives. San Francisco, CA |
