Option for Spring and Summer

Missions Adventures: This program gives youth a chance to experience missions first hand. They come from all over the USA with a heart and passion to share Jesus with the people of San Francisco and the world. While here, they minister to the hurting and the needy, all the time learning God's heart for people and the plans He has for them. In order for Mission Adventures to run, smoothly, we need YOU to come and help us facilitate the program.

What's in it for me?

SOS at YWAM SF offers you adventure, a break from that same old work, eat and sleep summer. You'll meet hundreds of youth, get inner-city missions experience, have leadership training, meet new friends from all over the world and so much more your head will spin! Just think, a whole summer of serving God and others, and having fun doing it!

SOS runs every spring and summer. The next SOS is:

May 31- August 7, 2009 (Optional departure date: Aug 14th)

February 9 – April 11, 2009

Cost

$700 for the whole spring or summer

Includes: food, transportation while working teams, leadership training, housing and ministry expenses.

SOS Mission Statement

"The purpose of the Summer Of Service is for the participants to serve the Mission Adventures teams and program and (when appropriate) other ministries of YWAM San Francisco. Through this, they will receive discipleship, leadership training, and opportunities to serve within the capacity of God's calling with the hope and intention of growing a contagious passion for world missions."

SOS Values

• We, the leaders of the SOS, value the general and consistent discipleship of our participants.

This last summer was a lot more than I expected it to be, and ended up being one of my favorite summers ever. At the end of my DTS I felt like God was calling me to stay in San Francisco and do a Summer of Service. I couldn't wait to go home after the school and start my "care-free" summer, so at first working the whole summer seemed like it was going to be hard.
