"In the Spring of 1994 the Hot Dog Church was founded in the inner city of San Francisco's Tenderloin District by our Pastor Emeritus Steve Wright and Dr. Ron Hooks. The homeless and the poor enjoyed hearing an encouraging Word and eating a good hot meal. We served all types of food in the beginning but it was the hot dogs that soon became the favorite. Founded in 1899. This church is no more! Almost destroyed in 1906 earthquake & pastor pleaded with fireman to check hydrant. It was saved but it burnt down in the mid 90's.

Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco
