On Ellis Street, just blocks from the hurry of shopping and downtown San Francisco, a unique opportunity to experience God and engage with his justice, awaits you. Here lies the Tenderloin, a neighborhood filled with a variety of people groups, individuals, and families, who are completely unreached by the gospel. Many of our neighbors are among the poorest and most marginalized populations in San Francisco. The experience of discipleship and life in this place exposes you daily to the nations, and teaches you how to reach out and pursue justice for the lost.

Join us for Discipleship Training School (DTS), a 6-month journey through the Tenderloin of San Francisco and into the nations, in which we focus on getting to know God personally for who He is, learning His hopes for our lives, and living out His will wherever He would call us.

DTS consists of two parts, but it makes one whole life changing experience.

Lecture Phase (12 weeks)

Each week a new speaker will visit the school to teach and invest in the spiritual formation of the students. Teaching topics usually include recognizing God's voice, the character of God, shaping a biblical worldview, spiritual warfare, missions and many others.

In addition, much of the learning will happen outside of the classroom. Each week will include spending time in small groups, intercession, corporate worship, community meals and serving the city alongside local ministries. While here, students will be living in dorm-style community housing, typically with 2-4 others. Many of your weekends will be free to experience and get to know the city with your fellow students.

Outreach Phase (8-12 weeks)

After Lecture Phase, you will travel to the nations to put into practice all that you have learned. The heart of DTS outreach is to use and implement the skills and gifts that you have been cultivating during the lecture phase. Specific outreach activities will be unique to the location(s) and team you are a part of.
