"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."

-John 10:10 KJV

THE PROMISE

Jesus was addressing quality of life in this passage. He desired to see people not only surviving or existing in this world, but living life and experiencing all that it has to offer. The opposite of stealing, is giving. The opposite of killing or taking life, is saving life. The opposite of destroying, is creating. In essence, this is exactly what Christ was stating he had come for, to do the opposite of what Satan was busy doing in the lives of the people He so dearly loved.

THE LAND IN NEED OF A HARVEST

At 360 we hold this passage as our foundation. For too long the enemy has been raping the very people God loves of every good thing He has planned for them. We see it daily in the faces of the crack addict or alcoholic passed out from drinking all day, whose home has become the sidewalks of our city. Or as we walk by the man in rags who lifts his paper cup and shakes it at us hoping we will deposit a few coins. The countless homeless and poor who have been imprisoned by social structures, unjust laws, and an apathetic public as well as their own personal struggles, are all a field that is ripe for the harvest.(MATTHEW 9:37 NKJV)

So how is 360 going to produce a plentiful harvest? We shall invite the individuals from our Ellis room center, sidewalks, and neighborhoods of the Tenderloin district in which we work and live into a relational ministry that seeks to know God and make Him known. Tangibly, this will manifest itself by submerging such individuals into rhythms of Scripture, prayer, community, service and humility. We want to offer 360 as a year long program to people who show a character and posture of one who can be taught, as well as expressing a definite commitment to the above rhythms and lifestyles.

Our goals will be to produce transformation, healing and growth in those enrolled in 360 as well as those staffing the program. Walking alongside the poor we want to introduce them to the possibilities in Christ of a life full of hope and dreams. For it is without dreams that one is left with only nightmares.

Finally, we desire to sow seeds that will empower the poor and marginalized and that lead to community development through local individuals. We will walk together in the light of unity while pursuing a healthy balance of life and faith. The time is now. The place is YWAM San Francisco.
